Eva’s Gown Aesthetics: The RoseGold Maiden

About Eva’s beautiful gown is one of my favorite outfits in the game. I made a little research on her dress and its details. The texture of the dress makes me believe that’s satin? Or I can be wrong?
Her dress has golden floral details which could be inspired by the Dolce & Gabbana 2012 fall collection. Their collection had the main theme of the black robes of the “Madonna Addolorata (Our Lady of Sorrows), whose cult has spread greatly in the Southern Italy” the statue’s robes are known of being black and decorated with golden floral garlands and frames. Since in Southern Italy, they appreciate her cult so much; it made me believe that Eva could be an Italian.. This could justify the fact of Dante’s love for pizza.

Eva could resemble the “ Lady of Sorrows” since she had difficult times protecting her family and like it’s said by Mrs. Margaret from the Devil May Cry the animated series that Eva “ had some difficult times” when her children were still young and that she was going through depression and suffering.

About her shawl, it’s been crimson red through all the Devil May cry franchise. The color red symbolizes mostly blood, power, passion, and love. Her shawl reminds of Jesus Christ’s red robe that he wore before his crucifixion. In the old ages, red robes were worn only by kings and they symbolize God-given right to rule.

So Eva could have believed in Christianity.. Or at least that’s what I believe from the way she was dressing.

In the intro of Devil May Cry X: The Last Judgement Eva’s hooded figure is found in a praying position and beside her is the visage of her husband Sparda in his demonic form. She could have been praying to god? But it was well known that the people of Fortuna were worshipping “The Legendary Dark Knight” as a god. But I don’t think that his wife Eva was worshipping her husband as a god? I believe that she had her own belief.
